The EA PAD Generator is a very simple program that I threw together to test IBOC Main Program Service data. The program will accept song title, artist, and album information and send it off to your exciter over the Internet or your local network. Future versions will include commercial and comment information but for now most HD radios can only show the text data.
To install this program, you must have a computer running Windows with the .NET run-time installed. If you do not have the .NET run-time, you can download version 1.1 here: .NET 1.1 Redistributable (Note: this file is 23MB in size.) Also make sure that your computer can communicate with the IBOC exciter via your local area network or the Internet.
Once you have .NET installed, download the EAPAD.zip program and unzip the files to a directory of your choice. Then navigate to that directory and double click the "Setup.exe" file. Follow the setup steps and you're all set.
Run the program by going to your "Start" menu, "Programs", and "EA PAD Generator". Enter your IP and port information, enter title, artist, and album info, and click the Send button. More information is in the README.txt file.
NOTE: This program hasn't been updated in quite some time and it does not use the Ibiquity software development kits. It may not be compatible with the latest exciters but it's still a good start for testing your PAD data.
